The FertilityCare approach to infertility

A CONTEMPORARY, MEDICAL HOLISTIC APPROACH TO YOUR FERTILITY

Many men and women today are increasingly interested in the workings of their fertility, particularly as infertility is on the rise and couples are settling down at a later stage in life.

In recent years, most couples have come to understand and address their fertility issues only by artificial means as there have been few other effective alternatives. Couples are increasingly seeking a more natural, successful, ethical, medical alternative to currently available artificial infertility treatments.

This rapidly growing demand for a contemporary co-operative method of infertility evaluation and treatment has led to the development of FertilityCare™ and NaproTechnology by which couples can rediscover and demystify the natural functioning of their fertility – with incredible results. In today’s climate where one couple out of every six will experience difficulty conceiving, this is a tremendous advantage. There are various treatment options available today for couples experiencing infertility, but this new approach offers a more successful, minimally invasive approach to the assessment and treatment of infertility.

The FertilityCare™ approach sees it as critical to be able to identify the underlying root cause of a couple’s infertility, and to directly treat this cause/s. Many couples enter our programme with a diagnosis of ‘unexplained infertility’, which can add frustration to their experience. This programme offers an opportunity for a closer, meticulous evaluation of one’s reproductive health, and can lead to the detection of problems which may previously have been overlooked.

How can FertilityCare help?

The Creighton Model

The foundation of NaproTechnology treatment is the Creighton Model System, which teaches women to observe certain biomarkers and thereby monitor fertility and keep good records of their own gynaecological health. These biomarkers are easily observed and analysed in all types of menstrual cycles.

In this way, couples become their own ‘fertility experts’ and are empowered to take control of their fertility, understand the natural sequences of fertility and infertility, and be several steps ahead in the evaluation and treatment of gynaecological and reproductive abnormalities.

NaproTechnology

NaproTechnology (Natural Procreative Reproductive Technology) is a recently developed reproductive science which works hand in hand with FertilityCare™.

NaproTechnology uses an in-depth knowledge of the woman’s cycle obtained from the FertilityCare™ chart to help diagnose the underlying cause/s of infertility. In listening to the woman’s cycle, NaproTechnology often detects problems that standard infertility evaluation may miss. Along-side this, male factor infertility is thoroughly assessed.

Basic research into understanding what ‘normal fertility charting patterns’ should look like allows us to recognise abnormal charting patterns that are associated with infertility.

Examples of abnormalities that can be detected from FertilityCare™ chart are:

Couple in consultation at IVF clinic talking to physician
  • Limited/absent cervical mucus flow
  • Abnormal (duration/intensity) menstrual flow
  • Tail End Brown Bleeding
  • Pre-Menstrual Spotting
  • Inter-menstrual Bleeding
  • Short Luteal Phase
  • Long Luteal Phase
  • Continuous mucus patterns
  • Hormone dysfunction
  • Significant infections that impact fertility

The abnormal FertilityCare™ chart immediately alerts the trained FertilityCare™ Practitioner and NaproTechnology Medical Consultant to the possibility that this couple may have an underlying pathological process preventing successful pregnancy.

NaproTechnology works co-operatively with the body’s natural procreative cycle. It does not suppress or manipulate the body’s reproductive system, but enhances and optimises its function by thoroughly evaluating and treating underlying problems. NaproTechnology tunes into the body’s natural fertility and treats problems with specific, minimally invasive medical and holistic treatments.

Together, the Programme offers a holistic approach to procreative healthcare, renewing your sense of dignity and giving you the best outcome possible.

History

NaproTechnology and FertilityCare™ combine to form a contemporary approach to infertility treatment and gynaecological problems based on more than 40 years of research and innovative treatment by Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist Dr T. W. Hilgers, Director of the PPVI Institute for the Study of Human Reproduction in the USA. Dr Hilgers is also clinical professor of obstetrics and gynaecology at Creighton University School of Medicine, USA.

International interest in NaproTechnology and FertilityCare™ has culminated in the opening of countless new centres in the past five years across the globe. In each case, the demand for services has been overwhelming, particularly in the areas of infertility treatment and women’s healthcare.

...Rediscover and demystify the natural functioning of your fertility with incredible results!

A STEP BY STEP APPROACH

Step 1… Find the problem
Step 2… Fix the problem
Step 3… Wait for a positive outcome!

This involves the orderly and systematic evaluation of a woman’s menstrual cycle using the Creighton Model System together with accurately timed blood tests to check for subtle hormonal deficiencies, some of which are usually missed with the present day 21 blood tests, ultrasound examination, timed ultrasound follicular tracking and various diagnostic procedures such as hysteroscopy and laparoscopy where necessary to thoroughly evaluate any abnormalities. Seminal fluid assessment is obtained through intercourse to obtain a more accurate result.

Medical and surgical treatment is directed at whatever abnormality is identified.

Treatment Plans

These are individually designed and may involve the use of natural hormones and various medications and natural supplements to correct any hormonal, ovulatory or cervical mucus dysfunctions, surgery to correct any physical problems (e.g. tubal reconstruction surgery for blocked fallopian tubes), diathermy/laser surgery for endometriosis, ovarian drilling for Polycystic Ovaries, removal of pelvic adhesions) and treatment to improve male fertility markers.

NaproTechnology Treatment is offered where some abnormality is detected. Establishing a diagnosis is central to our treatment approach. It is uncommon to have a diagnosis of ‘Unexplained Infertility’ using FertilityCare™ and NaproTechnology.

Assessment and treatment of various health related issues such as thyroid function, adrenal function, blood glucose, gut health and autoimmunity are vital.

What can NaproTechnology treat?

NaproTechnology can treat nearly every cause of infertility including:

  • Unexplained infertility
  • Endometriosis
  • Polycystic Ovaries
  • Anovulation
  • Low Progesterone levels
  • Limited or dry mucus cycles

  • Pelvic Adhesions
  • Blocked Fallopian tubes
  • Unexplained Recurrent Miscarriage

NaproTechnology cannot treat conditions where the woman has become menopausal or has bilateral blocked fallopian tubes despite attempted surgical reconstruction.

Holistic approach

In line with the FertilityCare™ approach to respecting the entire person, careful attention is paid to the emotional, psychological, spiritual aspects of health.
